Northern Chile is my absolute favorite. It's a unique desert country, where the landscapes seem to come out of another world: majestic volcanoes as far as the eye can see, immense salars, oasis towns and breathtaking rock formations. Each day is different and offers a new surprise: one day colored by ochre mountains, the next by turquoise lagoons or plains filled with wild animals.
This summer, we didn't yet have any plans for our vacation, and I quickly started looking at flights to see what was available. And then, surprise: a flight to Aruba at only 450 $ per person! I didn't think too much about it and booked on the spot. Once I had the tickets in hand, I started researching the island, and it was off to a new family adventure.
For this second trip to California, things didn't quite go to plan... and so much the better! This time, we couldn't find open-air tickets like on our first trip. No problem - we decided to leave LA and come back, turning this constraint into an opportunity.
